Educational Philosophy

King's Christian School is an educational institution, ministry of Iglesia Cristiana Oasis (Oasis Christian Church), existing to offer Christian pre-school, primary and secondary education to children from Evangelical Christian families who consider their children to be  their most valuable  possession given by God, and therefore, choose for them a Bible-based education.

The basis of the Christian education is the authority, authenticity and integrity of the Bible, the Word of God, which we recognize to be inspired, infallible and perfect ( 2 Timothy 3:15-17). Therefore, the Bible is the foundation of the study program, the foundation of all science, knowledge and thought process ( John 17:17).

We recognize that all students are sinful and need God's salvation. Hence, Jesus Christ is essential for salvation, growth, and empowerment for the service to our God ( Romans 3:23 - 25;  Colossians 3:23 - 24).

We believe that the goal of Christian education is to guide the student to know God and His Truth through the teaching of the Bible as the inspired Word of God; hoping that students respond and live in harmony with the Truth, being an example in speech, life, love, spirit, faith and purity ( 1 Timothy 4:12).

The Christian education must be taught by Christian teachers whose minds are continuously being renewed by the Word of God, since they will pass on to their students the truth and conviction of life, not only with their words, but also with their example. Therefore, they must understand, practice and communicate these life principles. It is the teacher's mission to faithfully transmit the Truth of God in purity, love, and wisdom ( Romans 12:1 - 2).

We believe that this education is committed to excellence and development of the student's maximum potential. Hence, their educational work is aligned to the Truth of God. The curriculum of the Christian school is the sequence of learning experiences that provide an excellent academic education that encourages students' growth in spiritual training.

The instruction combined with the Word of God involves teaching different areas of knowledge in such a way that students develop a critical mind, educational skills, and a Biblical worldview that leads them to think and act Biblically. All this is done within the framework of a mature, disciplined atmosphere that favors the teaching-learning process. The textbooks are considered a component of the curriculum and do not determine the educational process, but do work as a tool to this process.

God challenges parents to instruct their children in His Word, continuously by meditating, receiving  direction, and implementing the Word of God (Deuteronomy 6:6-9). Therefore, we believe that parents must take on the significant commitment to be directly involved with their children's educational process.

The teaching-learning process is completed when a student accepts the lessons with responsibility, respectful attitude, acknowledging God and His Word, and submitting to the authorities, by establishing warm and genuine interpersonal relations; showing attachment to and fulfillment of the established norms.

Our conviction of a Christian education is carried out with the total participation of the institution, the parents and the student, all of them being submitted to the authority and sovereignty of God and His Word.
